Taylor's Southern Pride
It all begins with an idea.
In 1992, James R. Taylor (Saucy) created his own unique BBQ sauce which has become a local staple in Pamlico County and eastern North Carolina. Over the years, Mr. Taylor won numerous awards in competition, beating out the best others had to offer. The amazing blend of vinegar, sweet, and a little heat at the end resulted in a truly one of a kind sauce. The hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed as he became a recognized fixture in the local area. His outgoing spirit and friendly personality made him a favorite to everyone who had the privilege of meeting him. He could always be found bright and early at the Farmers Market in New Bern as he greeted other vendors and early shoppers. The success he enjoyed making and selling his sauce could undoubtedly not have been accomplished without the love and support of his wife Janice and three daughters Ginger, Tammy and Teresa.
For reasons I still do not know, I have been blessed to carry on his business. His work will not disappear as I will carry on his business and legacy with every bottle of sauce I make. I feel fortunate to be given this opportunity and pledge the same dedication and commitment to the product.
